RANTHAMBHORE: Burning Bright?

Yesterday, we came to Ranthambhore, to do a jeep safari.

Staying at the Vatika resort, in a lovely tranquil little lodge-style apartment, we sat out for tea on the verandah to listen to the birds and, hopefully, some passing monkeys.

Instead, we got a full-volume Indian wedding disco from the 60-room hotel next door until after 9pm.

People come to Ranthambhore for wildlife tours, bird spotting, nature. I really hate Indian tourists.

On day two, we headed out on safari number one - a 5.30 start with heavy rain.

Our jeep arrived as the rain stopped and off we went, picking up Lou and Tim en route and a fella whose poor wife had cried off due to the runs. She'd booked the whole trip and was now prostrate in bed, awaiting further developments.

Ah well, into the National Park for three hours looking at trees, lakes, forts, grass, bushes, birds, reptiles and all sorts of animals.

Let's have a look.

Have I missed anything?
